Voigtlander Bessa L in Technicolor!

I know there are folks who repaint their prized Leica. But the lowly plastic Voigtlander Bessa L!?

I suppose it's not difficult to strip this little camera to repaint it. Unfortunately, the silk screened "Voigtlander" and the workd "Bessa-L" could not be retained. Shame.

Two week of absence!

Trapped in camp for two weeks! So many missed auctions and opportunities. Oh well....

Plenty of deliveries so I suppose I'll be running around arranging for redelivery and well as arranging for collection from the various courier services. There's also trips to the Customs.

Amongst those that have landed should be

Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.5 ASPH
Canon RF Sports finder
Leica M3 black plate
Canon accessory finder for Canon 7
Canon 100mm f/3.5 LTM X 3

etc, etc.

Can't wait!

Not more juggling with finders! And it has 1.5X crop for R-D1 and 1.3X crop for M8!!

I gotta get me one of these! But I don't think it will be cheap though....

New Voigtlander Super Wide-Heliar 15mm f/4.5!!

New lens Voigtlander again!

New lens again!

Aperture: f/4.5 to f/22
Lens construction: 6 groups, 8 elements
Picture angle: 110˚
Aperture blades: 10
Minimum focusing distance: 0.5 m
Diameter: 59.4mm
Length: 38.2mm
Weight: 156 g
Filter mount: 52mm
Lenshood: Integrated
Mount: M-bayonet
Rangefinder coupling: ~ 0,7m (depends on camera body)

Looking at the above, it's interesting to see filter threads available for 52mm filters. Will be much easier to mount colored filters for black and white shoots. Also, it's rangefinder coupled! Not critical for such wide angles, especially at f/4.5, but still a nice to have.

I wonder when will it come to Singapore... Tempting....

Luke Skywalker's missing lightsaber!

Obviously bored stiff...

Anyway, got the Canon 135mm f/4.0 cleaned up and the focusing and aperture rings relubricated. Now it's looking great! The original hood also arrived a week ago. Thanks to Dan who help me tranship the item from an ebay seller who prefered not to ship outside of USA.

This is one heavy baby and you can really feel it's presence. With the mounted hood, it really feels like a lightsaber from the Star Wars movies! Just the right size and weight. Let's see how this fella performs when I take it out for a spin.

Canon 35mm f/2.8 LTM in black

A bunch of new toys landed after a trip out last week. Amongst the stash, the more notable ones are..

Black Canon 35mm f/2.8 LTM on Canon IVSB

Canon 35mm f/2.8 LTM in black. It's the one mounted on the Canon IVSB. This is different from the earlier chrome version.

Canon 35mm f/2.0 LTM in complete packaging and paperwork. Supposingly new and unused. It's indeed very minty and can't seem to see any mounting marks. Even the 'Canon' plastic bags for the lens and the case are still intact. From the packaging, you can see that it's a type 2 lens, meaning the later version.

Artisan & Artist leather case for the Epson R-D1. Discontinued and extremely hard to get. Finally managed to land one after 3 tries.

I believe there's also the Canon 100mm f/3.5 Type 7 amongst the packages. Haven't got around to it yet. Also Canon Rangefinder filters, shades and viewfinders.

Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.2 @ ISO 1600

It's always fun to shoot with really wide apertures and at high ISO settings. The Epson R-D1' at ISO 1600 has grain, but in a pleasant way. Very film like. The older digital cameras gives very noisy images at that ISO setting. Practically unusable.

Anyway, this was taken on the night out with the boys at Holland Village. We had a session at the Bird Park earlier in the day with some serious long lenses. The Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM!!!

Canon 85mm f/1.5 LTM on Panasonic Lumix G1

The Panasonic Lumix G1 micro 4/3 digital camera! Long awaited as a solution for LTM and M mount lens owners to be able to use their beloved stash with a digital body.

I know of quite a few that have already jumped on the band wagon. It's fun while it lasted, but how long can the fun last?

One of the drawbacks is the 2X crop which effectively double the focal length. Even the Voigtlander Ultra Wide-Heliar 12mm f/5.6 Aspherical becomes a 24mm on the G1. Then, there is the use of the Electronic View Finder (EVF). It takes quite a while to get used to it. On the flipside, since it's not rangefinder coupled, there is no alignment issue.

Will I get one?..............Nah..
